Lions Fans Express Outrage Over Head Coach Dan Campbell’s WWE-Style Promo with Hulk Hogan
The Detroit Lions fanbase has been left reeling in disgust after head coach Dan Campbell appeared in a WWE-style promo with legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan, just days after Hogan spoke at the Republican National Convention.
In the now-viral clip, Hogan, donning a blue bandana, delivers a promo reminiscent of his Hulkamania heyday, with Campbell standing beside him. However, many fans have taken to social media to express their frustration, citing Hogan’s political affiliations and controversial past.
“Lost a lot of respect for Dan today,” one fan wrote. “Hogan is a known racist. This is bad optics, man.”
Another fan stated, “If I’m any of those Detroit Lions players, come contract time: BOUNCE as quickly as possible.”

Many fans have echoed similar sentiments, with some expressing their distaste with words like “ew” and “yuck.” The backlash has been severe, with some even calling for Campbell to distance himself from Hogan.
In the promo, Hogan says, “Yo, maniacs, Hulk Hogan here, the greatest of all time. My new tag team partner, Campbellmania brother, is gonna run wild this year. Super Bowl, nothing but greatness, nothing but victory. So what are you gonna do when the Detroit Lions and Campbellmania runs wild on you, brother?”
Despite the controversy, Campbell has led the Lions to a successful season, securing their first postseason appearance since 2016 and first divisional playoff game since 1991.
