Chalobah Fears Chelsea Exit Looms After Pre-Season Snub, Blues Set to Cash In

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has been omitted from the team’s pre-season tour to the United States, sparking concerns that he may be forced out of the club.

The 25-year-old, who made 13 appearances for the Blues in the Premier League last season, had been training at Cobham under new head coach Enzo Maresca. However, he was not included in the squad that traveled to the US, with Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile, and Levi Colwill among the defensive options chosen ahead of him.

Chalobah, who joined Chelsea at the age of eight, is said to be disappointed by the decision, but the club insists that it was based solely on sporting merit. With huge competition for places in central defense, Chalobah’s exclusion is seen as a sign that he may be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

Nottingham Forest have previously shown interest in Chalobah, who is contracted until 2028. He is expected to attract interest from other Premier League clubs, and Chelsea may be willing to cash in on their academy graduate this summer.

Alfie Gilchrist, another defender, has also been left out of the squad and is expected to leave on loan this summer.
