Veteran actor Nick Nolte was spotted running errands at Pavilions in Malibu, California, looking every inch the laid-back local.
The 83-year-old actor, who has won a Golden Globe Award and been nominated for three Academy Awards, opted for a comfortable white linen shirt and gingham pants for his grocery run.
His signature wild silver hair was on full display as he walked back to his car carrying a single shopping bag, giving onlookers a rare glimpse of the private star.
Although Nolte has stepped back from the limelight in recent years to enjoy a quieter life in Malibu with his wife Clytie Lane and their 16-year-old daughter, he’s still actively working in the industry.
The esteemed actor has been cast in the upcoming crime thriller The Ploughmen, an adaptation of Kim Zupan’s acclaimed neo-noir novel, which will be directed by Ed Harris and also star Bill Murray and Owen Teague.

The film is set to begin production in Montana this fall, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The plot follows John Gload, a skilled killer who has finally been apprehended, and Val Millimaki, a low-ranking sheriff’s deputy who forms an unlikely bond with Gload as he tries to uncover the truth about his past.
Nolte has also made a guest appearance in the whodunit series Poker Face, starring Natasha Lyonne as an amateur detective with a unique ability to detect lies.
Additionally, the actor has been cast in the pandemic-set psychological drama Shelter Me, reuniting him with his co-star from The Deep, Jacqueline Bisset.
The film follows an artificial intelligence research scientist who develops a remote monitoring system that exposes personal struggles, weaknesses, and strengths during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Throughout his illustrious career, Nolte has worked alongside some of the industry’s biggest stars, including Julia Roberts.
The Pretty Woman actress famously spoke out about her negative experience working with Nolte on the set of I Love Trouble in 1994, calling him “completely disgusting” in a New York Times interview.
