Brittany Aldean has spoken out about her highly publicized feud with Maren Morris, and she’s not holding back. In a recent interview, Brittany shared her thoughts on the drama that unfolded between the two, and why she believes Morris wasn’t being a good feminist.
According to Brittany, Morris and her friends in Nashville have had it out for her for some time, and she thinks it’s because she’s an easy target. “I’m a wife, and I don’t have a stage as a platform, but I have social media,” Brittany explained. “For some reason, I offend them.”
The drama between Brittany and Morris started when Brittany posted a makeup tutorial with a caption that some deemed transphobic. Morris and others in the country music community spoke out against Brittany, calling her comments hurtful.
Brittany claims that the feud between her and Morris started long before the makeup tutorial incident. She says that Morris and her friends would often take to Twitter to throw shade at her, but she never let it get to her.
When the drama unfolded, Brittany confessed that it felt like “World War 3.” She even earned the nickname “Insurrection Barbie,” which she joked about on the podcast.
Brittany’s husband, Jason Aldean, jumped into the conversation, joking that the nickname “Insurrection Barbie” was “hot.” Brittany laughed, saying that she’s grown to enjoy the moniker.
Despite the drama, Brittany says she doesn’t need to work, but she chooses to so she can help provide for her family. She also pointed out that she’s not afraid to speak her mind, even if it means going against the status quo.
“I have always said I will never use my friends as a pedestal,” Brittany said. “I’m trying to explain to people who are determined to misunderstand me anyways.”
While the drama with Morris was hurtful, Brittany says she’s grateful for her thick skin and her ability to use her platform to speak out for others who may not have a voice. She believes that God put her in her position to be a voice for the voiceless.
Since the drama unfolded, Morris has remained a strong ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and has distanced herself from country music. Brittany, on the other hand, is still standing strong, refusing to back down from her beliefs.
