Everton is taking decisive action to convince Jarrad Branthwaite to stay at the club, following strong interest from Manchester United.
Branthwaite, who made his England debut last month, has been the subject of two rejected bids from Manchester United. The initial offer of £35 million plus £8 million in add-ons was turned down, followed by a second bid of £45 million plus £5 million in add-ons, which was also rejected.
Everton is holding firm on their valuation of £70 million for Branthwaite, who had agreed to personal terms with Manchester United ahead of a potential move. The deal would have seen him earn £160,000-a-week.

According to The Mirror, Everton is prepared to offer Branthwaite a lucrative new contract to keep him at the club. His current weekly wage of £40,000 is set to increase significantly.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have spent £52 million to bring in 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro. The club is also considering a move for Bayern Munich defender Matthijs De Ligt.
Everton has reportedly informed Manchester United that further approaches for Branthwaite are not welcome.
