Tragic Stage Accident Claims Life of Brazilian Pop Star at 35

Ayres Sasaki, a renowned Brazilian rock singer, has tragically passed away at the age of 35 after being electrocuted during a concert in the resort town of Salinópolis, Pará.

According to reports, Sasaki received a deadly electric shock when he allegedly hugged a wet fan during his performance on July 13. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, he sadly died on the scene at the Solar Hotel.

The local police in Salinópolis and the civil police of the state of Pará are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

Sasaki leaves behind his wife, Mariana, a nurse whom he married just 11 months ago. The couple’s heartwarming Instagram montage from their recent wedding showcases their love and joy.

Sasaki, originally from Belém, the capital and largest city of Pará, was not only a talented singer but also an architect. He began his music career in 2017 and performed all over Pará with his band, even opening for the legendary São Paulo hardcore group CPM 22 in 2021.

Multiple Brazilian outlets reported that the fatal incident occurred when Sasaki hugged a wet fan, causing the electric shock. However, other sources claimed that he was playing the guitar when the accident happened.

A wake was held on Sunday, and Sasaki was laid to rest in his hometown the following day. The Hotel Solar has issued a statement offering support to Sasaki’s family regarding the necessary arrangements.

Friends and fellow musicians have paid tribute to Sasaki, remembering him as a charismatic and talented individual with a passion for music. Adriano Freitas, a friend and fellow singer, described Sasaki as the “king of encores,” sharing a story about a private concert where Sasaki played for 12 hours without stopping.

Comedian Natto Almeida, who was friends with Sasaki and performed with him onstage, remembered the late musician’s “good heart, his politeness.”
