NFL Star Aaron Rodgers Hints at Davante Adams Trade During Lake Tahoe Golf Game

Aaron Rodgers caused a stir among NFL fans by nonchalantly expressing his desire to “play with” Davante Adams “again.” The comment, made while Rodgers was at a golf course in Lake Tahoe, sparked speculation about a potential reunion with his former Packers teammate, now with the Raiders.

In a video that went viral, Rodgers is seen casually strolling and looking at his phone when a reporter asks about the potential utilization of Adams in the Raiders’ offense under coach Luke Getsy. Rodgers’ response? “I love Luke Getsy… I love Davante. I can’t wait to play with him… again.”

NFL fans on social media were quick to react to the footage, with some accusing Rodgers of tampering. “This is tampering,” read one of the most liked comments. Others joked about Rodgers trying to cost the Jets a draft pick for tampering, while some suggested he was simply “stirring the pot.” There was also speculation that Rodgers might have been referring to playing a round of golf with Adams.

The day before, Adams hinted at ongoing discussions with Rodgers about potential plans for the upcoming NFL season. “He’s in that ear… but it’s not easy,” Adams said, referring to Rodgers. “Obviously, we can get together and talk about the old times and the potential of doing this or that. But, like I said, I’m a Raider… he knows that, so… maybe the next [year].”

Adams, currently in the third season of a five-year, $140 million contract with the Raiders, won’t be a free agent until the 2027 NFL season, when Rodgers will be 42. While it’s unclear if Rodgers will still be playing then, the NFL’s anti-tampering policy prohibits teams from approaching players under contract with other teams without prior engagement. Any potential trade for Adams would require interested teams, including Rodgers’ Jets, to first speak with the Raiders.
