For the initial round, the Kelces were paired with WWE celebrity The Miz. Travis, a star for the Kansas City Chiefs, made an impressive start, accidentally striking a fan in the arm with his first tee shot, despite claiming a golf handicap of around seven or eight. Meanwhile, his older brother, Jason, showcased his power by winning the long drive contest before the tournament, outdriving everyone with a 322-yard tee shot.
Jason, who recently retired, shared his secret to success on the golf course: “There’s a point of an overturn. Usually, two to three [beers] over the course of the round—that’s my sweet spot. Once I’m over two to three, the game goes downhill fast. But there’s a sweet spot where I play significantly better. So, the swing lube is real.”
