Former Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Barr was the victim of a burglary early Friday morning, according to reports. The incident occurred at his Los Angeles home when three individuals allegedly broke in through a rear window around 2 am, while Barr was not present at the property.
Security cameras are believed to have captured the intruders in the act, and the police were promptly notified. However, by the time law enforcement arrived, the thieves had already fled the scene. The extent of the theft is unclear, and no arrests have been made thus far, with investigations still ongoing.
Barr, a 32-year-old NFL veteran, spent nine seasons in the league after a stellar college career at UCLA. He was drafted ninth overall by the Vikings in 2014 and played for them for eight seasons, earning four Pro-Bowl selections during his tenure. After a brief stint with the Cowboys in 2022, Barr returned to the Vikings’ practice squad but failed to make an appearance before leaving the team for the second time.
The Green Bay Packers have been linked to Barr during this offseason, but it remains to be seen if he will be picked up by a new team for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Unfortunately, Barr is the latest in a string of high-profile figures to be targeted by burglars in LA, joining the likes of actor Marlon Wayans and former NBA star Paul Pierce.
