Aaron Rodgers has opened up about his ‘enjoyable’ trip to Egypt, which he took during the New York Jets’ mandatory minicamp last month.
Speaking at the American Century Championship golf tournament in Nevada, Rodgers confirmed his visit to Egypt in June, which coincided with his absence from the minicamp. The team has deemed his absence ‘unexcused,’ resulting in fines exceeding $100,000.
“I felt great all spring,” Rodgers shared with NBC Sports. “I had a productive OTAs. Then I had a wonderful trip to Egypt, and this [tournament] marks the end of summer.”

The offseason has been a positive one for Rodgers, both on and off the field. He claimed to have scored a hole-in-one during a recent golf outing in Las Vegas. “I was lucky enough to make an ace at Shadow Creek’s 17th hole during my first round,” Rodgers said. “That was the highlight of my golf offseason.”
As for the Jets’ quarterback situation, there have been several changes. Backup Zach Wilson was traded to Denver, while veteran Tyrod Taylor and rookie Jordan Travis from Florida State were added to the roster. Travis, like Rodgers, is recovering from a season-ending ankle injury he sustained last year.
Rodgers, a seasoned Super Bowl champion, is expected to attend the training camp starting July 22 in Florham Park, New Jersey, as he continues his recovery from a ruptured Achilles tendon that sidelined him for most of the 2023 season.
