Marlon Wayans has addressed reports of a recent burglary at his Los Angeles home, taking to Instagram to share a message of gratitude and a warning to potential robbers.
In a video posted on Thursday, the 51-year-old actor and comedian assured his followers that he and his family are safe and unharmed. He also took the opportunity to clarify that the burglars did not get away with much as he leads a relatively modest lifestyle.
“First of all, thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on me and my family. We are all doing well and are grateful for your support,” he began his statement.
Wayans then added with a hint of humor: “To the robbers and others, I want to make it clear that I am not the person you want to rob. I don’t own any valuables or keep cash in my house. The most valuable thing I own is my house itself, so unless you plan on dragging that away, it’s not worth your time.”
He went on to explain that he doesn’t wear jewelry, carry cash, or own multiple cars. “I’m just not that kind of guy,” he said, suggesting that robbers would have better luck targeting someone else.

Wayans also shared a lighthearted message for any potential thieves considering targeting his home in the future, jokingly telling them that they would need to bring a jump start if they planned on stealing his 1994 Range Rover, as the battery is currently dead.
He concluded his message by reiterating that he does not keep any valuables in his home and urging robbers to reconsider their actions, suggesting that the risks of home invasions are too high.
According to reports, Wayans’ $5.3 million farmhouse in Encino’s Amestoy Estates was burglarized last Saturday while he was away. His brother, Keenan Ivory Wayans, was home at the time but did not realize what was happening until the next morning.

The thieves reportedly made off with a safe and around $1,000 in cash. So far, no arrests have been made, but investigators are treating the case as part of a growing trend of celebrity home burglaries in Los Angeles.
