Footage has emerged of Cristiano Ronaldo missing a sitter during a warm-up shooting drill before Portugal’s Euro 2024 clash with Slovenia.
The tournament in Germany could be the final international hurrah for the 39-year-old, who has already set multiple records, including becoming the first player to feature in six European Championships.
However, Ronaldo is yet to get off the mark in front of goal at Euro 2024, despite providing a selfless assist for Bruno Fernandes in their 3-0 win over Turkey.

In the clip, Ronaldo takes part in a shooting drill with his teammates, playing a one-two with a coach before taking a shot from the edge of the box.
His initial effort is parried by the goalkeeper, and Ronaldo’s instincts kick in as he chases down the rebound. However, his subsequent shot flies well over the bar, drawing jeers from the crowd at the Waldstadion.

The match itself proved to be a tense affair, with Portugal dominating possession but unable to break the deadlock. The game went to extra time, and just before the interval, Ronaldo had a golden opportunity to give his side the lead from the penalty spot after Diogo Jota was brought down in the box.
However, Ronaldo’s penalty was brilliantly saved by Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, keeping Slovenia in the game.

After 120 minutes of football failed to produce a goal, the game went to a penalty shootout. This time, Ronaldo made no mistake, stepping up first and converting his penalty. Portugal went on to win the shootout and secure their place in the quarter-finals.
