On Khloé Kardashian’s 40th birthday, Tristan Thompson, her ex, had only kind words for her. The NBA star, 33, took to Instagram Stories on June 27 to share a series of photos and a heartfelt message. “Happy birthday, Khloé! You are an amazing mom, my best friend, and the most incredible person I’ve ever met,” he wrote.
Thompson shared four photos of Kardashian, including family portraits with their two children, daughter True, 6, and son Tatum, 22 months. He also included a photo with his 17-year-old brother, Amari, for whom he was granted legal guardianship after their mother, Andrea Thompson, passed away in January 2023.
Khloé received birthday wishes from other members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan as well. Her mother, Kris Jenner, called her a “delightful angel” and expressed her gratitude for having her as a daughter. Sister Kourtney Kardashian shared an Instagram Story, calling Khloé her “beautiful sister” and reflecting on their journey together. Kim Kardashian also penned a sweet welcome to the “40 club” for her little sister.
As Khloé celebrated her birthday, she took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the new decade and all the blessings in her life. “Deeply Grateful For Every Moment. I love you all! I am so excited and thankful for this fresh decade and all it has in store,” she wrote.
Tristan and Khloé had an on-and-off relationship from 2016 to 2021. They called it quits for good after it was revealed that Tristan had fathered a child, Theo, now 2, with Maralee Nichols while he and Khloé were expecting their second baby via surrogate.
Despite their turbulent history, Tristan and Khloé have managed to forge a positive co-parenting relationship. During an appearance on the “SHE MD” podcast in May, Khloé acknowledged Tristan’s “mistakes” but made it clear that she had no intention of disparaging him. “He’s a great guy, and we get along really well now. We’re not meant to be together, but he’s an excellent father to our children,” she said.
