Nicola Peltz-Beckham is devastated by the sudden death of her beloved chihuahua, Nala, following a grooming appointment. In an emotional statement shared on her Instagram Story, Peltz-Beckham, 29, revealed that Nala’s passing has left her heartbroken, especially coming so soon after the loss of her grandmother, Naunni.
“My heart has been shattered these last few months,” Peltz-Beckham wrote. “This last month, in particular, has been one of the most painful I’ve ever gone through. From my Naunni’s passing to my angel Nala’s shocking and sudden death—being picked up from the groomer’s healthy and coming home in distress, only to pass away a few hours later—our entire family is devastated.”
The actress’s mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham, showed her support by reposting Peltz-Beckham’s statement on her own Instagram Story, adding the caption, “Thinking about you at this difficult time, we love you.” Peltz-Beckham married Victoria’s son, Brooklyn Beckham, in 2022.
Since sharing her story, Peltz-Beckham has received an outpouring of support and messages from people who have had similar traumatic experiences with their pets and groomers. She expressed her shock at learning that other families have endured the same pain and loss.
“As many of you know, one of my life’s missions has been to advocate for the safety and well-being of dogs and animals,” Peltz-Beckham continued. “I will do everything in my power to ensure that this never happens to another family because the pain is excruciating.”
Determined to uncover the truth behind Nala’s death, Peltz-Beckham stated that she is “relentlessly investigating” the incident and is committed to “uncovering the truth” about what happened in the groomer’s van. She also expressed frustration at the groomer’s lack of cooperation in the investigation, raising further questions about Nala’s unexpected passing.
“Nala was a joyful, energetic, and loving puppy who deserved better,” Peltz-Beckham added.
Peltz-Beckham and her husband, Brooklyn, 25, announced Nala’s tragic death on Instagram on June 16, expressing their shock and grief. “Dear Nala, we miss you so much,” Brooklyn wrote in his post, which included a heartwarming photo of him cuddling with Nala. “You were taken from us too soon, and we hope no one else experiences a loss after something as routine as a grooming appointment.”
He added, “You were the sweetest, most adorable puppy, and we will always cherish your memory. We know you’re watching over us, barking with joy. We love and miss you more than we can express.”
