The Kansas City Chiefs subtly referenced pop superstar Taylor Swift in their Super Bowl ring teaser video, released on social media this week. The video, narrated by Missouri native Jon Hamm and featuring Chiefs players George Karlaftis and Trent McDuffie, showcases the team’s history as the two players admire the championship ring.
The reference to Swift, who has been linked romantically with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, comes in the video’s tagline, “Greatness never goes out of style,” echoing a line from Swift’s hit song “Style” from her acclaimed 2014 album “1989.” The song itself showcases the word “style” an impressive 11 times throughout its lyrics.

Swift’s presence during the Chiefs’ victorious Super Bowl run was notable, as she attended 13 games last season, including all four of the team’s playoff wins in different cities. The team boasted an impressive 10-3 record in the games she attended.
With Swift’s “The Eras Tour” concluding its European leg in August, she will have ample opportunity to cheer on the Chiefs during the regular season and potentially another playoff run in early 2025. The tour is set to wrap up in Canada in November and December.
Swift and Kelce’s relationship has remained strong, with the couple enjoying a romantic getaway to Lake Como, Italy, last month amid her busy tour schedule. This upcoming NFL season will be a unique one for Kelce, as it will be the first time he enters the season with Swift by his side and without his older brother, Jason, who also played in the league but retired in March and joined ESPN as a football analyst.
