Joao Cancelo Nears Move to Saudi Arabia as Al Hilal Wait for His Decision

Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo is on the verge of making a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, with Al Hilal waiting for him to accept their offer.

  • Cancelo has been left out of Manchester City’s squads for their opening two league fixtures
  • Al Hilal have reached a broad agreement with Manchester City to sign the full back for around £30million

Cancelo, who has not featured for Manchester City since a disagreement with Pep Guardiola over game time 18 months ago, has been training with the Premier League champions but has not been included in their matchday squads this season.

The 30-year-old has had loan spells at Bayern Munich and Barcelona, and it is understood that Al Hilal have held positive talks with Manchester City over the past week after shortlisting him, teammate Kyle Walker, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.

Barcelona remain a possibility for Cancelo, who enjoyed his time in Catalonia last term, although any offer is likely to be in the form of another loan.
