Jennifer Lopez Breaks Silence on Social Media After Filing for Divorce from Ben Affleck

After filing for divorce from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez has broken her silence on social media, resharing a photo from a fan account.
The 55-year-old singer and actress shared a picture of herself taking a selfie in a pink pajama set with a Christmas tree in the background.
Lopez and Affleck, 52, have remained quiet since she filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. According to sources, the couple had pre-planned the terms of their split, with Lopez agreeing to be the one who filed for divorce.
“J.Lo finally pulled the trigger because that was their agreement that she would file, and she was the one who ultimately made the decision,” a source revealed. “They had already agreed to these terms before she filed.”

The couple’s decision to split reportedly came after they realized they were “incompatible.”
“It was more and more apparent they weren’t a good match,” a source explained. “They tried to make it work via couples therapy, but it boiled down to [the fact that] they are two different people.”
The source added that Lopez began to realize things wouldn’t change and they were incompatible when she started preparing for her since-canceled world tour.
“Spending time apart — it became obvious it wouldn’t work,” the source shared. “He [Affleck] has confided in Jen in a lot of ways, especially lately when things with J.Lo haven’t been so great in recent months.”

Affleck and Lopez’s relationship spans over two decades, with the pair first being linked after working together on the 2002 film Gigli. They were engaged to be married but called off the planned wedding ceremony in 2003. The actors officially split for the first time in 2004.
Lopez went on to marry singer Marc Anthony in 2004, with whom she shares 16-year-old twins Emme and Max. They divorced in 2014. Affleck married actress Jennifer Garner in 2005, with whom he has three children: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. They split in 2018.
A source revealed that Garner has been a lifeline for Affleck as he navigates his divorce from Lopez.
“There’s a deep level of trust and respect between them,” the source explained.
Affleck and Lopez rekindled their relationship in the spring of 2021, finally getting married in July 2022. However, signs of trouble began to show in the spring of this year, with insiders noting cracks in their relationship.
