Jennifer Lopez will be walking the red carpet solo at the premiere of her film Unstoppable, as her ex-husband Ben Affleck will not be joining her, according to reports.
The drama, which Affleck co-produced with Lopez, will be showcased in the Special Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by a limited theatrical release in December 2024.
There were allegedly efforts to convince the former couple to reunite at the premiere to generate buzz around the film, but it seems those plans have been scrapped.
The project is a product of Ben’s production company Artists Equity, which he co-founded with longtime friend Matt Damon. Affleck and Damon are among the 14 producers on the film.
Lopez, 55, stars as the mother to a wrestler and also co-produced the project with her partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.
The Amazon MGM Studios film wrapped production in January.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have a movie to promote on September 6: Unstoppable.
Unstoppable tells the story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and won a national championship in 2011 while competing at Arizona State University. Actor Jharrel Jerome (Moonlight) plays Robles, and the supporting cast includes Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle, and Michael Peña.
Ben and Jennifer have another movie they worked on together: Kiss Of The Spiderwoman, based on Manuel Puig’s novel of the same name.
In March 2023, Affleck spoke about collaborating with Lopez on the film, saying, “What fun, what a joy to do something with her, see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend.”
