Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa debuted a new look at a meet-and-greet on Thursday, sporting grown-out curls and a clean-shaven face. The 26-year-old’s fresh appearance sparked a wave of reactions and jokes from fans, with some drawing comparisons to popstar Bruno Mars and even the character Mowgli from The Jungle Book.

Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa unveiled a new look, surprising fans.
The quarterback’s new style was unveiled at the launch of his Perry Ellis collection at Macy’s Aventura. A ten-second video of the event, posted by Giselle Espinales on X, quickly garnered a range of reactions in the comment section.

Fans expressed surprise and humor at Tagovailoa’s new look.
One fan quipped, “Bruno Mars is tripping,” drawing a comparison between Tagovailoa and the fellow Hawaiian popstar. Another fan commented, “Say you swear to god,” while a third suggested, “Bro needs to keep the beard.”
Some fans took a humorous approach, with one joking, “Stop, this is the child from Jungle Book all grown up.” Another fan expressed disbelief, stating, “That man doesn’t look anything like Tua.”
However, among the playful comments, several users confirmed that it was indeed Tagovailoa, dispelling any notions of a body double. “It’s really him,” wrote user RoemelloGrant, “I was filming [the] Dolphins OTAs for the week. It’s him, trust me, I was surprised too.”
Espinales also addressed the comments, saying, “You guys are too much with the comments. Trust me, it’s Tua. Just clean-shaven. He was great with fans, taking pics and signing autographs.”
Tagovailoa, entering his fifth NFL season with the Miami Dolphins, has had a successful career since being drafted in 2020. Last season, he completed 388 of 560 passes for 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns, leading the Dolphins to an 11-6 record before their wild-card round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Miami Dolphins will kick off their new season on September 8, hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars in a clash of fellow Florida teams.
