Chargers’ Roster Spots Up for Grabs Ahead of Preseason Finale

As the Chargers prepare to face the Cowboys in their final preseason game, Coach Jim Harbaugh has several key roster decisions to make before the 53-man roster deadline on Tuesday.

Backup Running Back

The Chargers have a tough decision to make at the backup running back position, with Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins already locked in as the top two. Kimani Vidal and Jaret Patterson are competing for the third spot, and Vidal has impressed coaches with his recent performances.

Receiver Depth

The Chargers also have a logjam at the wide receiver position, with Joshua Palmer, DJ Chark, and Quentin Johnston already established as the top three. Derius Davis seems to have secured a roster spot due to his return skills, leaving one or two spots open for the likes of Brenden Rice, Simi Fehoko, and Jaelen Gill.
