Ben Affleck seemingly hinted at the demise of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez months before she filed for divorce.
The 51-year-old actor made a telling comment during an episode of Kevin Hart’s show Hart To Heart, which was filmed in early 2024.
Affleck was sharing a story about how fans mobbed his spouse when they were out with their children Violet, Fin, and Samuel in Times Square in New York City.
At one point, Ben used the past tense when referring to his marriage, sparking speculation that the couple’s relationship was already on the rocks.

Ben’s daughter had suggested a title for her autobiography: “J-Lo Was My Stepmother.” Ben questioned why his daughter used the past tense, possibly indicating that the marriage was already over at that point.
Affleck and Lopez separated in April, and she filed for divorce on Tuesday, their two-year wedding anniversary.

In the interview, Ben also discussed the chaos that ensued when he, Lopez, and their children walked through Times Square, with fans screaming and taking photos.
Affleck revealed that he was the one who suggested they walk through the busy neighborhood, and Lopez agreed, not saying a word.
