Heroic Chiefs Players Honored by Joe Biden for Their Courageous Response to Super Bowl Parade Tragedy

On Friday, President Biden commemorated the Kansas City Chiefs at the White House, praising the team for their courageous response during a tragic mass shooting at their Super Bowl parade. The shooting, which resulted in the loss of one life and left 22 individuals injured, cast a shadow over the joyous occasion.

Biden honored the memory of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who tragically lost her life in the shooting, and recognized the Chiefs for their selfless actions in the face of danger. “We witnessed pride give way to tragedy,” Biden remarked. He went on to acknowledge the players’ individual acts of bravery, such as Trey Smith aiding in pulling people to safety and James, who had experienced the loss of his father to gun violence, comforting and reassuring frightened children.
