Singer Ashanti and her husband, rapper Nelly, have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Kareem Kenkaide Hayes.
The 43-year-old songstress revealed the news on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself posing in Frida Mom disposable underwear, proudly showcasing her postpartum body.
In an accompanying video, Ashanti announced that she was four weeks postpartum, saying, “You have no idea what this body can do.”

Ashanti expressed her gratitude for her body, saying, “I’m so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby.”
Baby Kareem is the first child for Ashanti, but the fifth for Nelly, who has two biological children and two adopted children from a previous relationship.

In the self-shot clip, she moved the camera down her figure to reveal her significantly smaller tummy as she wore a white crop top and high-waisted gray panties, along with a lovely blue-and-white patterned robe
The couple’s marriage was first revealed in June, but they had actually tied the knot in December 2023.
Ashanti announced her pregnancy in April, sharing a video with her mother Tina Douglas, where she revealed the news by opening a pregnancy test.
Nelly was arrested earlier this month on suspected drug possession, but his attorney claims he was targeted by an overzealous officer and that the arrest was related to a traffic charge from 2018.
