Gridiron Giant Set to Tee Off in Anticipated Sequel to Classic Comedy

Travis Kelce Lands Cameo in Happy Gilmore 2, Confirms Adam Sandler

Travis Kelce’s acting career is about to take a significant leap forward with a cameo appearance in the highly anticipated sequel to Happy Gilmore.

Adam Sandler broke the news during an appearance on The Tonight Show, saying that Kelce will make a special appearance in the film.

“Travis mentioned it, so we have a nice something for Travis,” Sandler said. “He’s going to come by. He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

Kelce, a huge fan of the original film, expressed his enthusiasm for the project earlier this year on his New Heights podcast, saying he would love to appear in the second movie.

Kelce was over the moon about the opportunity, saying, “Man, I didn’t even know there was a job opening. I’ll be a f***ing extra, anything to get around Happy Gilmore, an Adam Sandler film or set – count me in. I’ll do anything in the movie. I’ll be part of it any way I possibly can.”

Kelce’s dedication to the project was further evident when he was spotted wearing a Happy Gilmore cap at Coachella this year, alongside his girlfriend Taylor Swift.

An open casting call was recently announced for the film’s production in New Jersey, but it’s unclear when Kelce will make his appearance.

“We’re getting ready to shoot it in New Jersey, we get started in a couple weeks,” Sandler said. “It’s good, we worked hard at the script, we didn’t want to let people down. So many golfers are going to be a part of it. I have to practice (the Happy Gilmore swing). I tried it out, I fell. But I’ll be ready when it is time to shoot.”

Kelce is currently gearing up for the start of the new NFL season, where his Kansas City Chiefs team are aiming for an historic third straight Super Bowl triumph.

But for the 34-year-old Kelce, news of the cameo marks another step on the road of his acting career as he continues to prepare for a life away from football.

Kelce is also in talks to star in action comedy film, ‘Loose Cannons’, according to Hollywood Reporter. Additionally, he will host his own gameshow – Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity – which is set to be released on Amazon Prime in October.

Kelce is also set to appear in ‘Grotesquerie’ – a new drama series written by Ryan Murphy, which will be released on Hulu on September 25. He shared his experience filming the show on New Heights in May, saying: “I feel like an amateur. And I haven’t gotten fired yet so we’re doing good. It has been so much fun. Ryan Murphy is an unbelievable writer, director, producer, all of the above, man. He’s just – there’s nothing he can’t do and everybody’s just been so helpful in making me feel comfortable.”

With his acting career on the rise, it’s clear that Kelce is ready to take on new challenges beyond the gridiron.
