The Valley star Brittany Cartwright recently opened up about her highly-publicized feud with Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent, offering her perspective on the situation.
During the Friday, June 7 episode of her podcast, “When Reality Hits”, which she co-hosts with her costar and husband, Jax Taylor, Cartwright shared her thoughts on the matter.
“I didn’t know she was going to bring that up on the reunion,” Cartwright said, referring to Kent’s recent comments. “At that point, we had already apologized to each other and moved past it, so I was caught off guard by the topic being revisited.”
The third installment of the Vanderpump Rules season 11 reunion, which aired on Bravo, saw Kent, 33, attribute the tension between herself and Cartwright, 35, to a text exchange between Cartwright and Kent’s mother, Lisa Burningham. According to Kent, Cartwright had inquired about Burningham’s decision to hire the same nanny employed by Cartwright and Taylor for their son.
“Brittany’s behavior towards me on the day of my gender reveal was unacceptable,” Kent told host Andy Cohen during the reunion. “She sent an inappropriate text to my mother, and when I asked her to have Jax call me, she refused.”
Cartwright, however, offered a different perspective, explaining that the situation “sounded worse on the reunion” than it actually was. She acknowledged that it had taken her and Taylor “a long time” to find a nanny they trusted with their son, who requires a consistent presence in his life.
“It was just a shock,” Cartwright said, clarifying her reaction to Burningham’s decision. “We only have me, Jax, and our nanny here, so it’s important to have that consistency.”
Despite the initial tension, Cartwright emphasized that she and Kent had reconciled, and she took responsibility for her part in the misunderstanding, saying, “I made a mistake by sending the message, but it was a polite message, and I would never be rude to anyone. I apologized immediately, and we moved past it.”
When asked about the current status of their relationship, Kent playfully responded, “TBD. I like that answer.” indicating that the situation is still evolving.
While the two reality stars may not see eye to eye at the moment, it’s clear that they are both focused on their respective families and moving forward from the drama.
