Tragedy has struck the 16 and Pregnant community as Season 5 star Autumn Crittendon has reportedly passed away at the tender age of 27.

News of Autumn’s death was shared by her older sister, Misty Crittendon, on Facebook. Misty has since launched a GoFundMe for Autumn’s funeral expenses.

Misty penned a heartfelt tribute to her sister, recalling their unbreakable bond and Autumn’s strength in the face of adversity. “You were robbed of your life at such a tender age, you left before anyone could tell you goodbye.. how much we love you.. how amazing you are and how proud we are of you for staying sober through some of the toughest parts of your life, how far you’ve came from where you were, how thankful we are to have had all these years with you, how proud of you we are as a mother, how grateful we are for the 3 tiny parts of your heart that are still walking this earth.”

Misty also shared her devastating account of the day Autumn passed away, describing the scene as “empty, quiet” and her own feelings of “emptiness, brokenness.” She vowed to ensure Autumn’s children are taken care of and promised to keep her memory alive.

Autumn’s sister later updated her Facebook post, blaming a certain individual for causing Autumn’s death. However, she has since deleted both posts and clarified that she will wait for a full investigation before making any further statements.

The Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed Autumn’s passing, although the exact cause of death remains unknown.

Autumn’s Health Issues

Autumn had been experiencing health issues, including diabetes, kidney problems, and high blood pressure. She had also been complaining of heartburn and had expressed interest in seeking medical attention.

Autumn’s stepfather found her unresponsive in her bedroom, and paramedics attempted to revive her, but unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful.

Autumn’s Appearance on 16 & Pregnant

Autumn Crittendon appeared on Season 5 of 16 & Pregnant, documenting her pregnancy with son Drake, whose father is Dustin Franklin. The episode focused on Autumn’s concerns about Dustin’s maturity and fitness as a father, as well as their disagreements over his marijuana use.

Drake was born healthy on December 17, 2013, and weighed 7 lb, 5 oz. After the birth, the episode followed Autumn’s struggles with Dustin’s lack of financial and logistical support for their son.

Autumn went on to have two more children, a girl and another boy, who are now one-and-a-half and almost 5 years old, respectively. Our thoughts are with Autumn’s friends and family during this difficult time.
