The Magpies May Let a Budding Starlet Fly to Liverpool to Abide by Profit Rules

Newcastle may be forced to sell one of their promising young stars to comply with Premier League profit and sustainability rules, according to reports. The Magpies’ summer transfer plans could be impacted by these regulations, with a number of their key players, including Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak, already linked with moves away.

One player who could provide a significant financial boost for the club is 19-year-old winger Yankuba Minteh, who joined Newcastle from Odense Boldklub in Denmark last summer for £6.5 million before being loaned out to Feyenoord in the Eredivisie. Minteh impressed during his loan spell, scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances, and caught the attention of new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, who was his manager at Feyenoord.

According to The Telegraph, Minteh is now valued at around £40 million, with Liverpool among the interested parties. Slot is said to believe that Minteh has the potential to become one of Europe’s top young forwards, and his impressive statistics and work rate have earned him praise from his former manager.

Minteh’s potential departure from Newcastle could make it easier for the club to retain other key players, such as Gordon and Isak, while also addressing their desire to sign a new right-sided attacker. Bruno Guimaraes, who has a £100 million release clause in his contract valid until the end of June, continues to be linked with a move away, with his future described as being “in God’s hands.”

While Newcastle would prefer to keep Minteh, they recognize the potential financial benefits of a sale, especially if it helps them retain other key players. However, they will also need to compete with interest from clubs in Italy and Germany, who are also reportedly keen on securing the teenager’s services.
