Kristin Juszczyk Reveals Why She Had to Turn Down Kamala Harris’ Request for a Custom Jacket
Fashion designer Kristin Juszczyk, wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, recently shared a remarkable story about receiving a request from the White House. During an interview, Kristin revealed that Vice President Kamala Harris had asked her to create a custom jacket, but unfortunately, she had to decline the request.
Kristin explained that the request came during the Super Bowl season, when her husband’s team was competing in the championship game. Harris, a California native and 49ers fan, had reached out to Kristin through her agent, asking for a custom jacket. However, Kristin was unable to fulfill the request due to her limited resources and lack of time.
“I’m like, ‘What company?’ He’s like, ‘The country,'” Kristin recalled, laughing about the unexpected request. “Unfortunately, at that time, I had no help and no ways of being able to make more stuff. There was just no time.”
Kristin, who has gained recognition for her custom jackets worn by celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Simone Biles, and Olivia Culpo, said that the experience was both surreal and intimidating. “I had never made anything for anybody else, so I was always hesitant because I’m a perfectionist at heart, and [it would bring] it to a whole other level if I were handing it to somebody else,” she explained.
Despite the missed opportunity, Kristin has since signed a licensing deal with the NFL and is working on launching her own fashion line. She has also spoken publicly about struggling with imposter syndrome as her business takes off. “It’s hard sometimes not to have imposter syndrome when you start to have success,” she said.
Kristin’s story serves as a reminder that even in the midst of success, entrepreneurs can face challenges and self-doubt. However, with determination and perseverance, she is pushing forward to achieve her goals and make a name for herself in the fashion industry.
