Christian Serratos, the star of The Walking Dead, is engaged to her long-term boyfriend, singer-songwriter David Boyd, 36. The couple has been together for 10 years and shares a daughter, Wolfgang, born in 2017.
Serratos took to Instagram to share the news, posting a series of photos from the night Boyd proposed. “I’ve been calling my boyfriend ‘Husband’ for ten years. Now it’s OFFICIAL! @davidboyd customized my DREAM RING, done to perfection by @brilliantearth,” she captioned the post.
The ring is a lab-created pear-shaped pink diamond weighing 11.66 carats, set on a red band. Brilliant Earth is a company that makes lab-created diamonds, eliminating the environmental and human rights concerns associated with mined diamonds, making it a perfect fit for the animal activist and vegan Serratos.
Christian Serratos and her boyfriend of 10 years, singer-songwriter David Boyd, 36, are engaged, she revealed on Friday
The couple met in Atlanta a decade ago when Boyd was on tour with Paramore and Fallout Boy, and Serratos was filming The Walking Dead. They had their first date the next night and have been inseparable ever since.
Serratos told that they envision a non-traditional wedding, saying, “We aren’t very traditional people, but being officially married is something we’ve always talked about.” She added, “I lean very introverted, so I imagine our wedding will be something very deconstructed. Perhaps even camp.”
Boyd also shared a loving tribute to Serratos on his Instagram, writing, “I’ve always loved you and I always feel happier and complete when I’m with you and Wolfie!!!! Here’s shouting it out from the rooftops and celebrating our love and continued future. I LOVE YOU.”
The couple has been balancing their careers and parenting, with Serratos telling that “We both just realized as long as she’s with us, she’s great, and she’s always been great. She’s a really easy kid.”
Serratos added that her daughter visits her on set and has adapted well to their lifestyle, saying, “Then if I say I have to go, she goes, ‘Okay, Mommy, see you later.’ So I think it’s actually helped that this has always been her reality, and she knows that she has a squad.”
