Colin Kaepernick’s NFL Dreams are Over, Insider Claims
Despite his recent assertions that he wants to return to the NFL, Colin Kaepernick will never play in the league again, according to an NFL insider. The 36-year-old quarterback’s hopes of ending his eight-year exile from the league are unrealistic, the insider said.
Kaepernick sparked controversy in 2016 when he knelt during the national anthem to protest racial injustice. Since then, he has not played in the NFL, and the insider believes that the door to a potential comeback has closed.
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh recently offered Kaepernick a route back to the league, suggesting that he join his staff. However, the insider claims that Kaepernick is unlikely to take up the offer because he still believes he can contribute to a winning team as a quarterback.
“The likelihood of him accepting the position isn’t very likely,” the insider said. “He is delusional in thinking that he will eventually be offered a job as a QB again in the league. That chance has forever passed him, no matter what he thinks.”
The insider added that Kaepernick is hesitant to start coaching because he fears that if he fails, it would kill off any remaining hopes of another opportunity to play in the NFL. Additionally, he believes that Kaepernick thinks he can still play for a team and contribute to a championship team.
Despite his desire to return to the league, the insider believes that Kaepernick’s age and the controversy surrounding him make it unlikely that any team would give him a chance to play again. “He is 36, and there are too many new players and younger players that wouldn’t provide the same headaches PR-wise that a returning Colin would ultimately provide,” the insider said.
