In the heart of New York City’s iconic Times Square, Louis Stancil Acting Studios has officially opened its doors, marking a significant milestone for Black-owned businesses in the entertainment industry. This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Black entrepreneurs who are making a positive impact in their communities and creating opportunities for others to thrive. Louis Stancil is one such visionary, and his acting studio is a testament to his dedication to empowering the next generation of talent.
On August 10, the Louis Stancil Acting Studios grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the historic Actors Equity Building in Times Square, followed by a star-studded after-party. Stancil, the 34-year-old founder, was joined by actor Justin Hurtt-Dunkley, known for his roles in “Mare of Easttown” and “Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” to mark this exciting new chapter.
Stancil’s journey to becoming a renowned acting coach is a remarkable one. Born to deaf parents, he grew up fluent in sign language and proficient in tactile signing, as his mother is also blind. This unique upbringing has given him a profound understanding of human behavior, which he has successfully translated into his work in the acting world.
In 2020, Stancil took a bold step and opened his first acting studio in Atlanta. Since then, his studios have expanded to Los Angeles, and now, with the New York City studio, he’s further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in the acting community. Louis Stancil Acting Studios has become a nurturing space for aspiring actors, providing them with a safe, supportive environment to hone their craft.
Stancil’s impressive track record speaks for itself. He has worked with notable names like Meek Mill, cast members from the Will Smith-produced “Charm City Kings,” and Kandi Burruss. Currently, he’s collaborating with Pretty Vee and rising star Akai Coleman from Netflix’s “SUPACELL,” cementing his status as a respected authority in the acting world.
With the New York City studio now open, Stancil is poised to empower the next generation of talent, and the possibilities are endless.
Congrats to Louis Stancil Acting Studios on this remarkable achievement! Be sure to follow the studio on social media.
