Gridiron Giant Mark Andrews Escapes Unscathed from Morning Mayhem

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was involved in a car accident on Wednesday morning while driving to the team’s facility. Fortunately, he escaped without any apparent injuries and was able to attend morning meetings with his teammates.

The Ravens released a statement confirming the incident, saying, “Mark Andrews was involved in a car accident while driving to the Under Armour Performance Center early Wednesday morning. Andrews was evaluated by medical staff at the Ravens’ training facility and did not sustain any apparent injuries. He later joined the team for morning meetings.”

Andrews, who has Type 1 diabetes, also released his own statement, saying, “I appreciate everyone’s thought and well wishes. This is a great reminder about the importance of wearing seatbelts and remaining alert while driving a car.”

The 27-year-old Oklahoma product is a three-time Pro Bowl selection who has overcome Type 1 diabetes to become one of the NFL’s top tight ends. This offseason, he made headlines for his heroic actions on a flight from Baltimore to Phoenix, where he helped a woman suffering a medical emergency by using his diabetic testing kit.
