Pokémon fans are mourning the loss of Rachael Lillis, the talented voice actress behind beloved characters Misty and Jessie, who passed away at the age of 46.
Fellow voice actress Veronica Taylor, who voiced Ash Ketchum, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, praising Lillis’ remarkable talent, comic timing, and acting skills. Taylor’s post included a screenshot of a longer obituary, which remembered Lillis as an extraordinary talent who brought joy to many through her voice work.
Lillis was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and had been battling the disease. Throughout her career, she lent her voice to numerous animated characters, including Jigglypuff, and appeared in shows such as _Winx Club_, _Hunter x Hunter_, _Last Man_, and _Ollie & Scopes_.
Taylor continued to pay tribute to Lillis, remembering her friend’s kindness, compassion, and sense of humor. She recalled Lillis’ wonderful sense of humor, intelligence, and remarkable memory, saying she was “lucky enough to know Rachael as a friend.”
In a final post, Taylor reflected on the void left by Lillis’ passing, saying she was unsure how to fill the “dark void” without her friend’s light. She concluded by remembering Lillis as a “magnificent wonder” who “burned bright and vanished too soon.”
