Vinicius Junior Reportedly Wanted by Saudi Pro League with €1 Billion Offer
The Saudi Pro League is allegedly willing to pay Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior a staggering €1 billion to lure him away from the Spanish giants.
Vinicius has been a key player for Real Madrid since joining from Flamengo in 2018, scoring 83 goals in 264 games and winning 12 trophies, including two UEFA Champions League titles.
According to reports, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has presented a verbal offer to Vinicius’ representatives, proposing a five-year deal worth €1 billion, with an annual salary 13 times higher than his current earnings at Real Madrid.
The proposed deal would make Vinicius one of the highest-paid players in the world, rivaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary at Al Nassr, another Saudi Pro League club owned by the PIF.
Vinicius is currently under contract with Real Madrid for another three years, and Al-Ahli would need to agree on a deal with the Spanish club as well as the player. This would likely double the overall cost, with Real Madrid reportedly demanding a transfer fee of €1 billion.
The Saudi Pro League has been making waves in the football world, attracting top talent with lucrative deals. Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the highest-paid player in the league, earning around €200m per year at Al Nassr.
Al-Ahli’s current squad boasts an impressive lineup, including Riyad Mahrez, Edouard Mendy, Franck Kessie, and Roberto Firmino. The club finished third in the Saudi Pro League last season, behind Al-Hilal and Al Nassr.
Vinicius’ potential move to Saudi Arabia would be a significant coup for the league, and a major blow to Real Madrid. However, the deal is still in its early stages, and much remains to be negotiated before anything can be confirmed.
