Elle King Opens Up About Traumatic Childhood Experience with Father Rob Schneider
Singer-songwriter Elle King has made a shocking revelation about her childhood, alleging that her father, actor Rob Schneider, sent her to a weight loss camp when she was a child.
In a preview clip for the upcoming episode of Bunnie XO’s podcast, “Dumb Blonde,” King, 35, shared the traumatic experience, stating, “I was, like, a really, really heavy child. My dad sent me to fat camp. And then I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and I didn’t lose any weight. Very toxic and very silly.”
Schneider, 60, shares King with his former partner, model London King. Despite their complicated past, King has tried to repair their relationship over the years, but to no avail.
King also opened up about her estranged relationship with Schneider, stating that she would often get lost in the shuffle during summer visits to his movie sets. “If I ever messed up a shot, if I ever was talking, I would get in trouble,” she recalled.

King also expressed her disagreement with her father’s views on certain topics, stating, “I disagree with a lot of the things that he says… He’s just talking out of his a— and I want to use this opportunity to say that I disagree.”
Despite their differences, King has sought to repair their broken relationship over the years, but to no avail. “You can want someone to change so much. You can’t control anyone else’s actions, you can’t control people’s feelings,” she explained.
The singer’s candid comments come after Schneider faced backlash for his transphobic and anti-vax jokes during a stand-up set at the Hospital of Regina Foundation’s Four Seasons Ball in June.
A witness described the atmosphere as “uncomfortable” and stated that Schneider’s jokes received no laughs.
The Hospital of Regina Foundation later released a statement condemning Schneider’s set, stating that it did not “align with the values of our foundation.”
