Nev Schulman, star of MTV’s Catfish, has shared a harrowing account of a motorcycle accident that left him with a broken neck.
The 39-year-old reality TV personality revealed that the crash occurred on Monday while he was on his way to pick up his two-year-old son Cy from school.
Schulman was rushed to the ICU after snapping two nerves that control his muscles, an injury that can sometimes result in permanent paralysis.
However, he assured his fans that he is not paralyzed and is projected to make a full recovery, sharing videos and photos from his hospital bed.

Schulman posted several videos of himself wearing a neck brace in the hospital, including one of him slowly getting out of bed with the help of two medical staffers.
He also shared heartwarming photos and videos of his family visiting him in the hospital, including his wife Laura Perlongo and their three children, Cleo, Beau, and Cy.

He also posted X-rays indicating the extent of the internal damage and then his recovery
In a heartfelt post, Schulman reflected on the accident, saying that he was “lucky to be here, alive, standing and hugging my family, projected to make a full recovery.”
He also expressed gratitude for the medical care he received, saying that he was “really starting to understand the meaning of gratitude. For the big and little things before the accident, and now everything moving forward.”
Schulman became a star in the 2010 documentary Catfish, in which he explores the world of online dating and identity.
He now co-hosts Catfish: The TV Show on MTV, which follows the stories of people who have been deceived or lied to online.
