Suri Cruise was spotted soaking up the sun in New York City on Saturday, just a week away from embarking on a new chapter in her life at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The 18-year-old daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise strolled down the sidewalk with a black tote bag slung over her shoulder, exuding a relaxed vibe.
Suri rocked a casual yet stylish outfit, pairing a blue tank top with cutoff black sweatpants and a white drawstring. Her brunette locks cascaded down her back, and she opted for a makeup-free look for her solo outing.

She is preparing to head off to college in the fall
Suri’s footwear of choice was a pair of colorful sneakers, which added a pop of color to her overall ensemble. She was seen taking a brief break from the summer sun while waiting to board the subway.
The teenager bears a striking resemblance to her actress mother, Katie, with whom she has lived in NYC since 2012.
Suri graduated from the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts earlier this summer. The school has a long history of producing talented alumni, including Al Pacino, Liza Minnelli, Jennifer Aniston, and Azealia Banks, among many others.
According to sources, Suri is leaning towards studying fashion at Carnegie Mellon, where she will start classes soon.
Katie, who has been Suri’s primary caregiver, is said to be feeling overwhelmed at the prospect of her daughter leaving the nest. However, she is also incredibly proud of the intelligent and mature young woman Suri has become.
Suri’s father, Tom Cruise, has been absent from her life in recent years, except for providing financial support. The actor reportedly pays Katie $400,000 a year until Suri’s 18th birthday and will now contribute to her college fees.
