Blues on Hunt for Deadly Striker as Spending Surges Past £200m Mark

Chelsea Plan to Sign at Least One More Attacker This Summer

Chelsea have been active in the transfer window this summer, and they’re not done yet. The club is set to confirm the arrivals of Pedro Neto and Samu Omorodion, but they’re still looking to bring in at least one more attacking player.

Neto, who was also sought after by Manchester City and Newcastle United, has agreed to a six-year contract with the option of another year and will be presented to the Stamford Bridge crowd today at their friendly against Inter Milan. The 24-year-old has impressed for Wolves over the past five years, racking up 14 goals and 24 assists in 135 appearances for the club.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will confirm Omorodion’s arrival from Atletico Madrid for £34.5m after he landed in London on Saturday. The club still hopes to add another attacker to their roster, with a loan move for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen being considered.

Chelsea’s spending has already exceeded £200m this summer, but they plan to offset that by offloading at least seven players either permanently or on loan. Juventus have enquired after Raheem Sterling, but have not taken talks any further, while Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja, and Romelu Lukaku are training with the development squad as they await offers.

Napoli confirmed last night that Osimhen has asked to leave the club after he was left out of their Coppa Italia squad to face Modena. Chelsea are eyeing up a loan move for the Nigerian striker, who has impressed in Serie A.

Centre-back Bashir Humphreys has offers from Leeds United and Burnley, while goalkeepers Kepa Arrizabalaga and Djordje Petrovic, midfielders Cesare Casadei, Lesley Ugochukwu are expected to go.

Offers may yet be considered for Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell, as Chelsea look to trim their squad and bring in fresh faces.
