Chargers Struggle in Preseason Opener without Justin Herbert

With starting quarterback Justin Herbert sidelined due to a foot injury, the Los Angeles Chargers struggled to find rhythm in their preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks, losing 16-3 at SoFi Stadium on Saturday night.

Backup quarterback Easton Stick led the offense, but the team’s chemistry was lacking, resulting in five three-and-outs and one interception in their first six possessions.

Stick struggled, completing just five of 13 passes for 31 yards, and the Chargers’ offense managed only 71 total yards in the first half.

Coach Jim Harbaugh admitted that the offense needs improvement, stating, “A lot of work to be done.”

The Chargers’ receivers were also short-handed, with key players Joshua Palmer, Gus Edwards, and J.K. Dobbins held out of the game.
