Jonathan Majors and his partner Meagan Good shared a poignant moment on the red carpet, opening up about their unwavering support for each other in the face of adversity.
The couple, attending the New York Urban League’s Frederick Douglass Awards Dinner, spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about the challenges they’ve faced in recent times.
Good, 42, expressed her pride in Majors, 34, and how they’ve navigated the difficult period together. “It’s been quite a year,” she said, “and I’m just really proud of how he’s handled it, how he’s grown, and how we’ve learned to find joy in the midst of it all and keep God at the center.”
Majors, convicted in 2023 on assault and harassment charges, was sentenced to an intervention program. Despite this, the couple remains committed, with Good calling Majors her “favorite person” and attributing their bond to his honesty, heart, and their shared growth.
The pair became emotional, shedding tears as they reflected on the impact of the past few months. Good stood by Majors throughout the legal process, a testament to their strong connection.
Majors, visibly moved, called Good his “best friend,” reflecting on the significance of finding such a deep connection at this stage of his life. “She makes me want to be a better man,” he added.
When asked about the possibility of remarriage, Good replied affirmatively, indicating her openness to the idea. The couple’s emotional display and words of support for each other highlight their commitment to standing strong in the face of challenges.
Majors acknowledged the importance of having Good’s support, reflecting on how it has impacted him. “You don’t realize the value of support until you truly need it,” he said. He went on to describe how they’ve learned to live in the moment and quoted Frederick Douglass, saying, “We are not judged by our triumphs, but by how we rise from our struggles.”
