Houston Texans player Tank Dell has opened up about a recent Florida nightclub shooting that left him injured, calling it a “traumatic experience.” In an interview on Monday’s episode of the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ podcast, Dell recounted the incident, expressing gratitude for his safety and describing it as a case of being in the “wrong place at the wrong time.”
The wide receiver, who has since returned to practice, explained that he had initially hesitated to attend the pool party where the shooting occurred. However, his friends invited him, assuring him that there would be security and proper checks at the door. Unfortunately, an altercation escalated, and a 16-year-old suspect opened fire, wounding Dell and nine others.

Recalling the incident, Dell said, “That situation just popped off out of nowhere. It escalated quickly and went south in an instant.”
Dell, who has fully recovered from his injuries, reflected on how the experience changed his perspective. He emphasized the importance of surrounding himself with the right people and being cautious about the situations he places himself in, especially considering the impact on his family. A teammate of Dell’s, C.J. Stroud, shared his own emotions upon learning of the shooting, expressing his fear and realization that he, too, needed to make changes in his life.
Dell was one of the victims of the shooting, which occurred at a party in Florida.
The suspect in the shooting, 16-year-old Christopher Bouie Jr., has been charged with multiple offenses, including attempted homicide, possession of a firearm by a minor, and firing a weapon in a public place.
