San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa praised his team’s quarterback, Brock Purdy, during a recent interview at the team’s OTAs. Bosa commended Purdy’s leadership qualities and believed that a new contract wouldn’t change who he is as a person.
“I think he’s definitely becoming more vocal within the team,” Bosa said. “I don’t think he’s ever going to change. I don’t think he’s someone who’s going to change even when he gets a new contract next year.”
Bosa also drew laughs when he compared Purdy to golfer Scottie Scheffler, saying, “He’s a man of faith and kind of reminds me of Scottie Scheffler, except without the recent legal troubles. Just a super humble and really good kid. And yeah, he’s definitely famous.”

Scheffler was recently arrested after an incident at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. He was charged with several offenses, including felony second-degree assault of a police officer, which could result in a prison sentence of up to ten years. Despite rumors, the Louisville Police have stated that they will not be dropping the charges against Scheffler.

The detective who arrested Scheffler, Bryan Gillis, has come under scrutiny for failing to activate his bodycam during the incident. Additionally, there are accusations that Detective Gillis once drove an intoxicated civilian in his police vehicle and performed ‘donuts’ in a business parking lot.
As for the 49ers, they are currently in the middle of their optional team activities (OTA) phase of the preseason. Both Bosa and Purdy have been in attendance, working hard to improve after their Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last season. The 49ers fell just short, losing 25-22 in overtime.
